.com.au Registration is available to:
a) registered Australian companies
or
b) an oragnisation trading under a registered business name in any Australian State or Territory
or
c) an Australian partnership or sole trader
or
d) a foreign company licensed to trade in Australia
or
e) the owners of a Registered Australia Trade Mark
or
f) the applicant of an Registered Australia Trade Mark
or
g) an association incorporated in any Australian State or Territory
or
h) a an Australian commercial statutory body.
The domain name must be:
(a) identical to either:
(i) the name of registrants company name
(ii) the Application or Registered Australian Trade Mark
(b) an acronym or abbreviation of either:
(i) the name of registrants company name
(ii) the Application or Registered Australian Trade Mark
(c) be closely and substantially connected to the proposed registrant/legal owner because the domain name refers to:
(i) a product that the registrant manufactures or sells
or
(ii) a services that the registrant provides
or
(iii) an event that the registrant organises or sponsors
or
(iv) an activity that the registrant facilitates, teaches or trains
or
(v) a venue that the registrant operates
or
(vi) a profession that the registrants employees practice.
To complete the registration emni will require the following information:
(1) Full address and contact details for the Australian company.
(2)(A) The Australian Company Number(ACN) of the Australian company. It is possible to search the Australian Securities and Investments Commission for this number at http://www.search.asic.gov.au/gns001.html. Please ensure that the registered name is the same as the proposed registrant/owner.
